Un buget alternativ al UE

Synopsis

An alternative to the European Commission's proposal for the Multiannual Financial Framework covering 2028 to 2034, written chapter by chapter against it, together with partner institutes of the EPICENTER network.

The Commission proposes €1.76 trillion, a 32% increase in real terms on the current budget, and the European Parliament would push the total towards €2 trillion. The alternative sets spending at roughly 1% of Gross National Income: €1.54 trillion over the seven years, an average of €220 billion a year. The case made is that the Union can meet every obligation under the treaties, support Ukraine, fund research and maintain cohesion with about €32 billion less each year than the Commission asks of European taxpayers.
